Notebooks don't need many peripherals, because everything you need is built into the notebook.  You will need a printer.  There are several good portable printers on the market if that is what you need.  Many notebooks come with an external printer port.  You may also find that your LCD is too small for some applications, or you think you'd like to expand you desktop onto two monitors at once.  Most newer notebooks come with an external video port  You may also find that you would rather type on a standard keyboard, or use a standard mouse.  Notebooks often come with ports for these too.  Notebooks, beside having many of the same ports as desktop PC's, also have card slots or PCMCIA slots (PCMCIA-People Cant Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms).  There are many very useful devices that can take advantage of these slots.
